Sipco Hygrozyme 4L Bottle

North America’s #1 Selling Horticultural Enzyme Formula
Hygrozyme is a powerful blend of concentrated, beneficial enzymes that work synergistically to ensure plants achieve their full genetic potential. It provides a cleaner root zone by accelerating the break down of dead root matter and unlocking essential nutrients for your plant.

Hygrozyme Ingredients
Hygrozyme is a powerful blend of concentrated, beneficial enzymes that help plants grow better.

Hygrozyme contains 4 core enzymes: cellulase, xylanase, hemicellulase and beta-glucanase, which are complemented by additional hydrolytic enzymes. The ingredients in Hygrozyme are specifically designed to work at their maximum strength in the optimal hydroponic pH and temperature range.

Enzymes for Plant & Root Health
Since enzymes are specific in the reactions they catalyze, a diverse variety of enzymes must be present in the root zone to carry out all the different biochemical transformations required to break down the various components of the decaying plant material.

On that effect, only when the right type of enzyme finds the right substrate, does a biochemical reaction occur. This specific interaction between an enzyme and a substrate means you don’t have to worry about undesirable effects. For instance, when cellulase breaks down cellulose, that’s all that will happen. No other material or process will be altered or affected. That’s why it is important to have the right formula like Hygrozyme, designed specifically to get rid of the bad without affecting the good.

To ensure full satisfaction and 100% guaranteed results, Hygrozyme is manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 certified production facility.

Hygrozyme vs the Rest: An Enzyme Product Comparison

When investing in an enzyme product for plants, it is important to know if the enzyme formula contains the right enzymes to improve your indoor or outdoor grow system.

Here is what you need to know to compare products:

Enzyme Ingredients should be listed on the package
To protect consumers, many states including California and Oregon require enzyme products to list its active ingredients on the product label. Regulatory authorities ensure that the declared units of active ingredients are in fact in the product, subject to its expiry date.

Check the ingredient list on the package and make sure that enzymes are actually in the product. Enzyme names are easy to identify, as most enzyme names end in “ase” (i.e. Cellul-ase).  Active ingredients in Hygrozyme are 1,000 U/mL cellulase, 100 U/mL xylanase, 75 U/mL hemicellulase and 40 U/mL beta-glucanase, which are also complimented by a unique blend of additional hydrolytic enzymes.

If N-P-K is declared on the product label, then the product is likely registered in the state as a fertilizer, not an enzyme. In this case, enzymes ingredients are not guaranteed.

Make sure it’s registered as an enzyme
Plant products that break down dead root matter should be registered as an enzyme in states like California and Oregon. If it’s registered as a fertilizer or not registered at all, it most likely won’t help with keeping your roots clean. Product registration databases for each state can be found below.

California Department of Food and Agriculture Database: https://apps1.cdfa.ca.gov/fertilizerproducts/

Oregon Department of Agriculture Database: http://oda.state.or.us/dbs/heavy_metal/search.lasso

Look for the claim “break down dead root matter”
Manufacturers can’t claim that the product “breaks down dead root matter” if the product isn’t registered as an enzyme in states like California and Oregon. Additionally, they must declare the type of enzyme and level of activity to prove that the product does, in fact, break down dead organic matter.

The Tissue Test
This simple test shows if the right enzymes are in the product to break down dead roots. Try the test at home by placing tissue in a cup of enzyme product. Keep it at room temperature for 24 hours. Shake and observe to see if the tissue paper disintegrates.

Tissue is essentially the same material as dead root matter (cellulose). The more the tissue breaks down, the higher the activity of the enzymes (cellulase) is in the product.

With that said, high cellulase activity doesn’t always mean that it is a superior product. Hygrozyme is formulated to have a precise ratio of 4 core enzymes and additional hydrolytic enzymes to break down dead root matter without over doing it (too much can be harmful for plants).

Hygrozyme Instructions
Hygrozyme is simple and easy to use. It is suitable for both hydroponic and soil use, indoors or outdoors.

How do I use Hygrozyme?
For best results, mix 8-10 mL of Hygrozyme per gallon of water or nutrient solution. Use with every watering or as determined by your feeding schedule.

Hygrozyme is a concentrated enzyme formula for plants, do not use more than the recommended dosage.
Use reverse osmosis or filtered water.
Best to be mixed fresh with every nutrient mix and used up within 7 days of mixing. Do not pre-dilute.
Hygrozyme can also be used for propagation preparation. Use 6 mL of Hygrozyme per gallon of water to soak trays and media prior to use.
When should I use Hygrozyme?
Use Hygrozyme in every growth stage including propagation, vegetation, and flowering. For best results, we recommend only using water in the last week before harvest.

After harvest, use 10-15 mL of Hygrozyme per gallon of warm water to wash your equipment. Once cleaned, sanitize your equipment with H2O2 at 3% concentration.

What do I use Hygrozyme with?
Hygrozyme is compatible with all hydroponic nutrient and supplement programs. It also supports beneficial microbes by converting dead roots into food that beneficial microbes thrive on.

Prevent Root Rot with Hygrozyme
What is Root Rot?
Root rot is a common problem for hydroponic growers, mainly caused by poor aeration. Signs of root rot include soft brown roots instead of firm white roots.

It is extremely difficult to reverse the effects of root rot for plants. Once root rot develops, it could ultimately kill your plant or, at a minimum, could severely hinder the plants’ ability to absorb water and nutrients – resulting in poor growth and low yields.

Preventing root rot in any grow system is a smart investment.

How to Prevent Root Rot?
Hygrozyme prevents root rot by providing a cleaner, more vigorous root zone through accelerating the break down of dead roots, which would otherwise be a welcoming environment for root rot. It also improves drainage and aeration by removing organic matter in the growing media and stimulating microbial growth. Improved drainage and aeration means that chances of root rot are dramatically decreased.

How to Fix Root Rot with Hygrozyme?
Although Hygrozyme does not cure diseases, it assists in reversing damage from root rot. To fix root rot, use Hygrozyme with your feed while you remove the affected roots and improve the aeration and/or drainage. The enzymes in Hygrozyme continually work at breaking down dead organic matter to prevent root rot from further developing.
